Applicants Welfare
& Development Centre is a Non-Governmental Organization established in
March 2000. It was registered with the Akwa Ibom State Government through
Ministry Of Women Affairs And Social Welfare in 2003, and the Federal
Government of Nigeria through Corporate Affairs Commission in 2010. AWANDEC, is
a Non-Governmental Organization which has promoted over time
gender equality, sustainable OVC programming, environmental health, food
security through encouragement of home stead farming, WASH, Good governance
& leadership, education, training, employment & job creation and ICT
& enterprise development. Our service interventions entails improving lives
of the vulnerable population in communities of
intervention through advocacy, service delivery and engagement with duty
bearers to meet the felt needs of the less privileged in the society.
AWANDEC Team began
activities in the month of July 2016 with service provision through home visit
by the Community Volunteers. During the Home Visit, Home Case Management Plan
was conducted alongside with Child Status Index for OVC that were enrolled
in the month of January 2016. Also, home monitoring was done using the home
visit monitoring tool, as well as schools visit. Notwithstanding, the Team also
engaged in house to house taking and fixing of passport on household files. Financial
literacy training was carried out on the 4th of July 2016, by the
prime implementing partner of LOPIN REGION 1 project - ARFH to strengthen the
capacity of beneficiaries receiving business start up business materials. Still in the same month,
according to HES Assessment Checklist, HES start up business materials were
also procured to be given to the target PLWHIV beneficiaries. AWANDEC
monitoring Team, on 22nd to
23rd July 2016 monitored all the beneficiaries who had benefited in
the 2 batches of PRO Vit A Cassava Stem distributions in the month of May and
June 2016. In a bit to strengthen the capacity of AWANDEC team, Data Quality
Assessment was carried out on the 21st July 2016 to monitor the
progress on update of identified weakness in the last DQA in 24 th
June 2016. Following the trend, there was a meeting of Program Monitors with
the staff of AWANDEC on 27th July 2016 with the objective of seeing
the way forward of meeting the milestones required by the CBO. To further
season LOPIN 1 project, Familiarization visit to the newly appointed Caretaker
Chairman of Okobo LGA was on 19th July 2016.
